Most stuff I can buy here in sleepy old Toledo.
The unusual or something a bit more up market I get in Peruibe, which is 25km down the road at the coast.
This was today’s shopping including prices.
Seagers Gin $R21.50
Bells Whisky $R38
Kitchen Tap $R34.50
Tahine 2x 200gm $R19.40
Black Pudding $R7.55
Bus fare 2x $R3.50
The kitchen tap, one of my ex wives broke.
The axe, I broke…….not on her head I might add!!!
Old Brazilian Proverb :- If it were ever to rain soup, the poor would only have forks.
Just got back from a sit down lunch at ‘Restaurante 2 Irmas’ and am replete for the princely sum of $R13! That is 3 pounds 73 pence or 4.26 Euros, for fried fillet of chicken with onions, chips, mixed veg, rice and fejun with a can of Guarana to wash it down. Simple but satisfying and a bargain don’t you agree?
