Within the Ribeira Valley the PETAR park is an area of outstanding beauty and contains some of the largest caves in Brazil!
The area has many waterfalls and underground rivers that have carved huge caves from the limestone

After a lot of hard pedaling it is great to go homeward bound down-hill!

Granite outcrops occur throughout the Jureia. No one seems to know if they have ever been climbed!
After heavy rain this was impossible to cross before the bridge was built in 2005
Highest peak in the range is about 1500 m. This one is about 1000 m.
